On the weekend of April 7-9, 2000, please be our guest for our eighth fly-in. We have a dance space in Center City Philadelphia, and we already have three outstanding callers lined up for the event. From Pennsylvania, we are lucky to have Mr. Tom Miller. Tom is a noted recording artist and an experienced and fun caller. His choreography is fresh and exciting and he sings like an angel. And from the mountains of Albuquerque, we are lucky to have Ms. Kris Jensen. Kris is a standout caller and has served as the newsletter editor of the Gay Callers Association for years. Please help us welcome them to town and share the weekend with us. In addition, we have our very own Howard Richman calling on Saturday. Howard has taught our club members Mainstream and Plus for these past 2 seasons, and all of us know what a fabulous singing voice and energy Howard brings to his performance.
We are expecting a record turn-out, and we look forward to some outstanding new features in addition to our favorites. We are planning a fun badge tour to familiarize everyone with some of Philadelphia's incredible artistic and historical attractions. And we hope to offer you some special discounts on transportation and lodging that will make this one of the most affordable as well as enjoyable venues in the new millennium!
Our official hotel is the Alexander Inn in Center City Philadelphia. This gay owned and operated hotel is an intimate space just a few short blocks for all our dancing venues and the hottest gay and lesbian clubs in the city, and it's only $99 per night with breakfast included. Call 215-923-3535 and make sure you mention Independence Squares for this rate. If you cannot afford to stay in a hotel, please let us know. We have a limited opportunity for billeting.
We have selected dance space for our Fly-In and we are proud to announce... no more carpet! After years of slogging along on hotel floors with indescribable carpeting, we now have good quality dance surfaces in all our venues. We will be using 2 rooms at the William Way Center for the whole weekend and we will be dancing on the top floor of Woody's on 13th Street on Saturday afternoon. We have a special treat for Saturday evening, but please remember to bring some soft-soled shoes for this one!
